This Brilliant Woman Figured out How to Make Money out of Dick Pics

January 14th 2016

After receiving a lot of dick pics over the years, photographer Soraya Doolbaz decided to become a penis photographer herself. Some people receive unwanted penis pictures from aggressive suitors, so it's quite empowering of Doolbaz to transform a form of harassment (if the dick pic is unsolicited) into art and take control of the narrative.

"Back when I was single, I would get a ton of dick pics," Doolbaz said in a new video for the New York Post. "I thought, what if I took them with a professional camera?"

Now, women flock to Doolbaz asking her to take pictures of their partners' penises. She dresses the penises up like they're people, and her photos are quite popular. She is also well-known for recently photographing a penis to look like Donald Trump.

Instead of pretending genitals are taboo or should remain hidden, Doolbaz says she's aiming to bring back "equality to humanity through dick art."

Michael Lewis, who modeled for one of her photoshoots, said the experience made him feel more desirable.

"I kind of get the feeling sometimes that guys get the short end of the stick when it comes to sex," Lewis said. "We're just so utilitarian, so I just wanted to have a second where I could feel like.... everyone wants to feel desirable, I guess."

Doolbaz said it was a proud moment for her when she exhibited her work at Miami's Art Basel, which she called "one of the biggest international art fairs in the world."

"Two years ago, when I took my first dick pic, I never thought I would be here today selling limited edition prints in Miami for $10,000 a piece and having a product line that includes adult novelty items like calendars and mugs," she said. "And it's surprising and very delightful that people just like dick on things."

Another approach to a modern dating tactic.

Doolbaz's art comes at a time when many women receive unwelcome dick pics on social media and dating platforms such as Tinder. Late last year, actress Debra Messing famously shamed a stranger for sending her an unsolicited dick pic by sharing a censored photo of it on Twitter:

Messing was widely praised on social media for calling out the man's behavior:
