Comedian Bill Maher has a simple message for politicians and billionaires who want to prioritize space travel over preserving life here on Earth — “Fuck Mars.”

In his latest video collaboration with ATTN:, Maher describes the red planet as an “airless, lifeless, freezing shithole” and criticizes a bill recently signed by President Donald Trump calling for a manned mission to Mars — to the tune of $450 billion.

Maher’s not alone in this opinion, either. Late last year, ATTN: spoke to scientists who lamented the Trump administration’s seeming prioritization of space exploration over climate research.

So what’s the solution? As Maher puts it, it’s time to “Make Earth great again.”
