Elizabeth Warren Just Unleashed Against Donald Trump's VP on Twitter

July 16th 2016

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump announced Governor Mike Pence as his running mate this week. But not everyone is pleased with this decision, including Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.)

Today, the senator went on a passionate Twitter rant blasting Pence and Trump.

Much of her following Twitter rant focuses on Pence's record of opposing gay rights and women's reproductive rights.

In 2011, when Pence was a congressman, he led the charge to strip funding from Planned Parenthood, according to Indystar.

As governor of Indiana, Pence supported and signed a law in March that aims to restrict women from getting abortions because of a genetic diagnosis like Down Syndrome. On its website, the National Association for the Repeal of Abortion Laws called the law "one of the most extreme anti-abortion measures in the country."

However, in June a judge temporarily stopped the implementation of the law until a decision on the local Planned Parenthood's lawsuit against the state is reached, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Warren said that Pence and Trump's "sexism" falls in line with the Republican Party.

She slammed the Republican ticket for Pence's discriminatory record with LGBT rights.

Pence famously signed a "Religious Freedom Restoration Act" last year that would have let businesses refuse services to gay customers on religious grounds. However, after national outrage, Pence signed an amended law that had protections for LGBT and transgender people, according to USA Today.

Then Warren attacked the entire Republican Party's stance on LGBT rights.

She finished by calling a Trump-Pence administration "terrifying."

Warren has a history of attacking Trump on Twitter.

Now, Pence is the newest adversary in Warren's Twitter wars.
