Chris Hemsworth's Response When His Daughter Wanted a Penis Deserves an A+

April 18th 2016

Parenting is not an easy thing, but when actor Chris Hemsworth's 4-year-old daughter said she wanted a penis the "Thor" actor knew just what to say.

In an interview on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show", Hemsworth opened up about an interesting conversation he had with his daughter India about her desire to be just like her twin brothers.

"My daughter's kind of envious of my boys," Hemsworth said. "She came to me the other day, and she's like 'You know, Papa, I want one of those things that Sasha and Tristan have.' And I'm like, 'What do you mean?' She said, 'You know the things in between their legs that you have.'"

Hemsworth was taken aback by his daughter's request. He then tried to explain the differences between the male and female body but little India wasn't having it. She emphatically shouted back at her father that she wanted a penis.

"She goes 'I really want one!' Hemsworth said. "I'm like, 'A penis?' And she's like 'I want a penis!'

And like any loving parent, Hemsworth supported his daughter's choice.

"She's four and I'm like, 'You know what, you can be whatever you want to be.' And she goes, 'Thanks dad.' Runs off into the playground and that was it."

Hemsworth, who starred in the movie "The Huntsman: Winter's War," also talked about the film's industry need to tell more empowering stories about women.

"It's a very modern take on the fairy tale world," Hemsworth said. "It's not the damsel in distress being rescued by the prince. It's me being rescued most of the film by these very powerful women and I thought, 'This is something I want my daughter to see now, which is women, where they're in charge of their own destiny.' They're not waiting for the prince to rescue them. They can take over the world or lead armies or so on. So it was great and I think there's not enough it and there should be more."

Wow, beauty and brains. Bravo, Chris Hemsworth.
