She Got Pregnant and Did What Any Dedicated Pole Dancer Would

March 25th 2016

A 36-year-old pole dancer from Australia took professional dedication to a new level by continuing to embrace her trade throughout her pregnancy. Though she isn't dancing to the same degree as she would while not pregnant, she proudly dons her pole dancing gear in photos and has even filmed herself rocking out on the pole, Cosmopolitan recently reported.

Jill MacLean, who is known professionally as Cleo the Hurricane, wrote in a recent blog post that she has wanted children for a long time but worried early on that having kids could hurt her career. Now that she is 36 years old, married, and established in her line of work, she is excited to be a mom.

But one downside to pregnancy is that her body changes have made her feel less sexy. Continuing to wear her pole dancing gear, however, has empowered her.

"As much as I have enjoyed this journey, preparing for motherhood, watching my baby belly grow... I have been CRAVING and LOVING that feeling of putting on my heels, a sexy song and pole dancing... just to feel sexy again," she wrote. "I'm so glad I didn't hang up the heels completely during my pregnancy."

Cleo the Hurricane confirmed to ATTN: via Facebook Messenger that she gave birth to a boy this week, adding that her "doctor was very impressed with [her] flexibility and [she] squeezed him out in 15 minutes."

Though she stopped doing intense pole dancing tricks during her pregnancy, she took photos of herself by the pole every month to document this "significant" moment in her life. She also wrote that she took her pregnancy very seriously and wouldn't wear her pole dancing heels if she wasn't "completely comfortable and confident in them."

"I'm not really 'pole dancing' that much (definitely no tricks or inversions) but I have been taking flexy pregnancy pics nearly every month in my pole gear as it is such a significant time in my life and what a better way to document it... in the splits or on the pole!" she wrote. "I'm not only doing this to share my journey with you, but I do it for me... To feel sexy again! Like a hot mumma! ...and how much fun it's been!"

Unfortunately, she has faced some backlash from trolls for the type of work she does and pole dancing during her pregnancy:

Despite some of the hurtful comments she has received, she wrote that pole dancing allows her to express herself and that she is sure her son will love seeing these photos of his mom when he turns 21.

"I also want to be a great role model for him and anyone else we bring into this world. That is as a strong and free spirited woman doing what I love because it makes me happy and sharing that positive energy with everyone around me. Yes, what I do is still considered 'taboo' to some people who don't know any better, but to me, it is STRENGTH and my PASSION and that is all that matters."

Cleo the Hurricane, who has more than 33,000 Facebook fans, has been celebrated by a lot of people for continuing to do what she loves during her pregnancy:
