Amber Rose Just Announced Her Next SlutWalk in the Most Badass Way

Model and women's advocate Amber Rose just called out an Instagram double standard and announced her upcoming SlutWalk in one body positive photo.
The Twitter version of Rose's photo (above) freed the nipple. However, Rose shared a censored version of the photo on Instagram with the hashtag #FreeTheNipple — a move that highlights Instagram's infamous double standard for female nipples.
Rose's fans showed their excitement for the upcoming SlutWalk and also cheered her on for continuing to embrace her sexuality regardless of criticism and judgment from others:
The culture of shaming women.
Over the past year, Rose has done a lot of work to highlight the issue of slut shaming in our culture. In September, she participated in a comedic Funny or Die video that fights the stigma surrounding "the walk of shame," for which many women face judgment. In the video, Rose explains that there's actually no shame in doing the "walk of shame" and that women should be able to have one night stands without getting rude stares from others as they walk home in their clothing from the previous night.
Rose's video was so important because there's a strong cultural stigma surrounding the "walk of shame." A good example of this is a scene in 2002 comedy "Sorority Boys" in which a woman leaves a man's fraternity house room in the morning and walks out to the entire fraternity clapping and singing about it.
"['Walk of shame'] terms purposefully aim to disgrace females and bestow guilt upon them," Her Campus writer Tamar Davis wrote in 2014. "Very rarely are men charged with doing the 'walk of shame' — instead men returning to their dorms after a night out are congratulated and celebrated by their peers. In fact a popular joke retorts that a guy doing the walk of shame is simply 'skipping to breakfast.'"

Like Rose, many famous women, including Miley Cyrus, Cara Delevingne, and Scout Willis, have joined the #FreeTheNipple movement on social media in response to Instagram's anti-female nipple policy. In 2014, Cyrus posted a topless photo of herself with the caption, "Some lame a** deff gonna (flag) dat (s***) but f********k it #practicewhatchupreach #FreeTheNipple #freedats***." As she anticipated, Instagram deleted the image. She went on to post another subtle photo of her nipple on Instagram a few months later, however:
Model Chrissy Teigen, who has also been censored for posting nipple photos on Instagram, told Mashable in 2015 that she doesn't post these images to cause trouble, but to make a point about the sexist treatment of female nipples.
"The fact that I have to censor myself from my photo at all when there are full-on porn being shot across Twitter and Instagram every day is crazy," Teigen said. "But women are beautiful and if it's a beautiful photo that isn't vulgar, then who cares?
