Indica

Indica is a strain in the cannabis genus that is known to be a short, wide plant. Most indica plants don't grow taller than around three feet, and this makes them good for people who want to grow marijuana inside. Regardless of whether you grow marijuana, you will probably want to know how smoking indica can make you feel.

The main characteristics of a typical indica experience is the body high and the extremely relaxed feeling you get. Indica is good for when you just want to take it easy and feel good. If you feel like laying down, eating some Kettle chips and watching both of the Kill Bill movies in one sitting, then indica is the way to go. Many people smoke indica before they go to bed because it helps them get to sleep.

Some of the medical benefits of smoking or consuming an indica include:

  • Increased appetite
  • Easier sleep
  • Nausea reduction
  • Anxiety and stress reduction
  • Pain relief

Some of the most popular indica strains include: Granddaddy Purple, Bubba Kush, Northern Lights, Purple Kush and Blue Cheese.

Sativa

Sativas are tall, thin plants. They can grow over six feet, so they're the ones you see in those pictures of fields of towering marijuana plants. The effect of smoking a sativa is that you will feel energized and focused.

Many creative people smoke sativas so they can work on their projects with an altered conscious. Many journalists, one might assume for no specific reason, also love sativas. Sativas can also be associated with causing someone to laugh at inappropriate times, so be aware of that.

Some of the medical benefits of sativas include: improved mood, nausea reduction, increased appetite and increased energy. And trust me, it's not good for sleeping. It is, however, good for getting out of bed every five minutes to write down a great new idea.

Some of the most popular sativa strains include: Sour Diesel, Green Crack, Jack Herer, Lemon Haze and Alaskan Thunder Fuck.
