A tragedy on American soil Wednesday morning gained a dark international dimension by evening. 

Supporters of the so-called Islamic State militant group took to Twitter Wednesday afternoon to celebrate a deadly mass shooting in San Bernardino, California, that left at least 14 people dead and 17 others injured.

According to to a report by Vocativ, the supporters used the hashtag #America_Burning to praise the three suspects implicated in the shooting at the Inland Regional Center, a facility for developmentally disabled people. The terrorist group did not claim responsibility for the attacks. 

"Three lions made us proud. They are still alive," an Arabic tweet from user @Neran_Da3shya read. "California streets are full with soldiers with heavy weapons. The United States is burning #America_Burning #Takbir," it read, according to Vocativ.

"Let America know a new era #California #America_Burning," read another.

As of this writing, two suspects, a man and a woman, were deceased. A third suspect was in custody, police said.
