Adult Film Star Stoya Accuses Ex-Boyfriend James Deen Of Rape

November 30th 2015

Porn actress Stoya has accused ex-boyfriend and fellow porn star James Deen of sexually assaulting her. Stoya took to Twitter over the weekend to make these claims against the wildly popular Deen, whom is often described as a "feminist porn star" and praised for getting more women interested in watching porn thanks to his boyish looks and demeanor.

Stoya also recently posted a tweet claiming that she would be avoiding the internet until mid-December for professional purposes. Though this was an earlier tweet, it indicates that she might not speak further on the accusations against Deen:

Deen almost immediately denied the accusations on Twitter:

Following Stoya's tweets, former adult actress Tori Lux wrote a Daily Beast article claiming Deen assaulted her on set in 2011:

"[A]lmost immediately after I’d finished my scene he began to antagonize me. I hadn’t even had time to dress myself when he said, with a smirk on his face, 'Tori Lux, would you like to sniff my testicles?' 'Nope,' I replied in a neutral tone. 'I’ll repeat myself: Tori Lux, would you like to sniff my testicles?' he asked, more aggressively this time. I replied with a firm 'No,' in order to establish my boundary—which James then disregarded by grabbing me by the throat and shoving me down onto a mattress on the floor."

Lux wrote that she didn't report Deen because many people argue that sex workers put themselves in harm's way "and therefore can't be assaulted."

"Being silenced is what keeps sex workers in danger, and the stigma is what keeps sex workers silent when they’re attacked," Lux continued.

Deen and Stoya are both top ranked performers on PornHub and famously dated in 2013. Given the popularity of Deen and Stoya, many people are using social media to weigh in on the claims. The hashtag #SolidarityWithStoya began trending to show support for her as well, and fellow porn actress Joanna Angel spoke out against Deen:
