Turing Pharmaceuticals CEO Martin Shkreli made a surprise appearance on Reddit Saturday, hosting an "Ask Me Anything" session on the popular social media forum. The former hedge fund manager fielded questions from users, many of whom had questions about his role in raising the price of Daraprim, a life-saving drug that Turing acquired in September, changing the price from $13.50 to $750 per pill.

The public backlash Shkreli encountered in response to the price gouging scandal has put him on the defensive, and he has made several media appearances in recent weeks, including an interview with Fox Business on Friday. In that interview, Shkreli defended the 5,000 percent price hike, called Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders a "demagogue," and downplayed an announcement from Imprimis Pharamaceuticals, a San Diego-based drug company that is unveiling a $1 per pill alternative to Daraprim.

A month after Shkreli told ABC News that he would lower the price of Daraprim, he has still yet to do so. Reddit users were critical of Shkreli and voiced their disapproval in the extensive AMA.

Here are some highlights from Shkreli's Reddit AMA.

Shkreli, for his part, seemed to think that the Reddit AMA was an overwhelming success.

But after 24 hours, the session has zero points, with only 41 percent of Reddit users upvoting the AMA. Reddit users were, to say the very least, divided when it came to Shkreli.
