This Viral Photo Campaign for Ahmed Mohamed is Genius

People are sharing photos of themselves with clocks on social media in support of 14-year-old Ahmed Mohamed, who was arrested this week after school officials suspected his homemade clock was a bomb.

Many reacted negatively to the treatment of Ahmed, showing their support for this young engineer by sharing the hashtag #IStandWithAhmed on social media. Ahmed's story outraged much of the nation because it is rooted in Islamophobia, and as ATTN:'s Kyle Jaeger wrote, his arrest is "demonstrating that for those with Muslim backgrounds, prejudice and profiling continues to pose problems in the U.S."
