Ben & Jerry Just Did Something Sweet For Marriage Equality

June 26th 2015

If you have not heard yet: same-sex marriage is now recognized for all gay couples in America. In honor of the people who fought for years for equal rights, Ben & Jerry's renamed its Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream 'I Dough, I Dough.'

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled June 26 in a historic decision that strikes down state-level bans on same-sex marriages and requires that all 50 states issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. In a video from Ben & Jerry's, the first same-sex couple to be married in Alabama, Tori Sisson and Shanté Wolfe-Sisson talk about the struggle for LGBT people and the continued fight against discrimination.

"Our work is done when I can walk down the street, be it gay, or Black, or woman, and not have any type of harassment towards me," Wolfe-Sisson says.

ATTN: recently also made a video about the respectable compensation that Ben & Jerry's employees receive compared to many other restaurant chains.
