LGBT Heroes Frida Kahlo, David Bowie, Harvey Milk, Masha P. Johnson and Billie Jean King Were Instrumental in the Fight for LGBT Rights

Mexican painter Frida Kahlo was openly bisexual and married to artist Diego Rivera, English singer David Bowie came out as gay and later as bisexual after Britain decriminalized homosexuality, Harvey Milk was the first openly gay politician in California, Masha P. Johnson, a trans woman, led the fight for queer rights that inspired the Stonewall Riots in the ‘60s when homosexuality was illegal in the U.S., and tennis champion Billie Jean King was one of the first pro athletes to come out as gay.
