In states that have legalized medical marijuana, hospital visits for painkiller dependence and opioid overdoses dropped. Marijuana is an alternative to prescription painkillers and can help opioid addicts curb their addiction. U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions has said marijuana isn’t a cure for opiate abuse.
