Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce, just made her worldwide debut on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine for its July 2015 issue.

Jenner, whose pictures were taken in her Malibu home by photographer Annie Leibovitz, first spoke publicly about transitioning to female several weeks ago in a highly publicized interview with ABC News' Diane Sawyer.

"For all intents and purposes, I am a woman," Jenner said in the Diane Sawyer sit-down, which aired towards the end of April. "People look at me differently. They see you as this macho male, but my heart and my soul and everything that I do in life it is part of me, that female side is part of me. That's who I am."

Prior to the Diane Sawyer interview, speculation surrounding Jenner's transition had been swirling in the media for a while, especially in the wake of Jenner's recent divorce from long-time spouse Kris Jenner. In the "20/20" segment, Caitlyn (then Bruce) explained that she had known she was really a woman since childhood and that hiding her identity for more than six decades was a horrible experience, particularly because she had to keep it secret from those she loved dearly. Late last month, E!'s wildly popular series "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" released two segments titled "About Bruce" regarding the Kardashian and Jenner family responses to Jenner's transition.

Jenner told Vanity Fair that she did not want to die without fully embracing her true self.

“If I was lying on my deathbed and I had kept this secret and never ever did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, ‘You just blew your entire life,'" Jenner said. "Bruce always had to tell a lie. He was always living that lie. Everyday, he always had a secret from morning til night. Caitlyn doesn't have any secrets. As soon as the Vanity Fair cover comes out, I'm free."

The magazine will hit newstands June 9.
