In a surprising turn of events, Donald Trump won the U.S. presidential election on Tuesday, and some people online are not holding back how they feel about it at all.

Social media users on Instagram, Facebook — and especially Twitter — are finding their own silent way to protest Trump's win, and those who support him, by changing their profile photos to a plain black box.

They're using #TwitterBlackout to show solidarity.

Some are also including or solely using #NotMyPresident. 

Though, Trump was elected president, Hillary Clinton won the popular vote.

"As of 11:55 a.m. ET, Clinton had amassed 59,458,295 votes nationally, to Trump's 59,265,380 — a margin of 192,915 that puts Clinton on track to become the fifth U.S. presidential candidate to win the popular vote but lose the election," NPR reports. Perhaps this might explain why so many Americans feel that Trump is #NotMyPresident.
