BREAKING: Hillary Clinton Was Just Cleared... Again

November 6th 2016

Less than 10 days after the FBI announced that it was continuing its investigation into Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server, the department announced that its latest search came up empty.

FBI Director James Comey sent a letter to Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, who chairs the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, stating that a round-the-clock review resulted in the department's standing by its July decision not to file charges against Clinton.

NBC News reporter Frank Thorpe shared the letter in a tweet on Sunday afternoon.

The Clinton campaign quickly responded with a tweet of its own to the news:

Comey's letter said that the FBI chose to continue its investigation after finding correspondence relevant to Clinton on a computer belonging to New York's former Democratic Rep. Anthony Weiner, the husband of Clinton aide Huma Abedin.

The FBI is currently investigating Weiner in an unrelated case involving allegations that he exchanged inappropriate text messages with a 15-year-old girl.

ATTN: has reached out to the FBI for comment and will update this story when it receives a response.
