Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump made a demonstrably untrue statement regarding his record during an exchange on nuclear weapons during Wednesday night's final presidential debate.

Trump refuted a claim made by his opponent, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, that he had previously advocated for arming Japan and other foreign powers with nuclear weapons.

"I didn't say nuclear," Trump claimed.
