As prominent Republicans continue to scramble to control the damage caused by the Friday night release of a tape of Donald Trump crudely bragging about his attempted adultery and sexual advances, speculation has raged about vice-presidential candidate Mike Pence replacing him on the top of the ticket.

On Saturday morning, Pence tweeted his official response to the tape - making it clear he has no plans to usurp Trump's place as presidential candidate, while subtly distancing himself from the candidate:
