Donald Trump Got Caught in a Big Lie

On Saturday, Donald Trump complained that his election rival "Crooked" Hillary Clinton and the Democratic party were cruelly attempting to rig the debates by scheduling them at the same time as two professional football games.

On ABC News, Trump added that he got a letter from the NFL that asked about the schedule — which was approved by the bipartisan Commission on Presidential Debates in September 2015 — asserting that the debate's timing was "ridiculous."

Yet, when CNN's Brian Stelter reached out to the league, they denied having sent such a letter, Deadspin reports.

This is not the first time Donald Trump has tried to weasel his way out of a debate. He issued an ultimatum over a January GOP primary debate moderated by Fox News host Megyn Kelly — who he was feuding with at the time — demanding Kelly be removed. Trump ultimately made good on the threat, drawing the ire of his Republican primary rivals.
