Breaking: House Democrats Occupy the Floor for Gun Control

June 22nd 2016

House Democrats staged their own protest for gun control, but you couldn't watch it on CSPAN. Rep. John Lewis (D-Georgia) led a protest against congressional inaction on gun control, but the Republican-controlled House had the cameras shut off.

That didn't stop House Democrats from showing pictures of their protest on Twitter.

House Democrats demanded a vote on gun proposals before the July 4 break.

Democrats wanted to force a vote on gun legislation in the wake of a shooting attack in a gay nightclub in Orlando, Fla.

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), who led a 15-hour filibuster on the Senate floor last week for gun control, showed solidarity with his colleagues.
