Wendy Williams Has No Sympathy For Kesha

February 23rd 2016

Though many female celebrities have voiced sympathy and love for Kesha since she was denied a court injunction that would have freed her from her contract with alleged abuser Dr. Luke, talk show host Wendy Williams isn't so sympathetic to the singer's plight.

When HollywoodLife.com's Chloe Melas pointed out in a Monday segment on "The Wendy Williams Show" that this could hurt Kesha's career because she still owes Sony six more albums, Williams said the court outcome "sounds like it was fair" and that "contracts would be broken all the time" if women complained every time they claimed to have been abused.

"Unfortunately business is business, and it sounds like it’s fair," Williams said. "If everybody complained because somebody allegedly sexually abused them and was ripping them off, then contracts would be broken all the time."

Williams added that Kesha is "no spring chicken" and "wasn't stupid" when the abuse first reportedly took place a decade ago. Williams also said that it's very easy to catch sexual abusers because women can just film the abuse in action.

"She wasn't stupid ten years ago, neither was her mother, when the alleged sexual abuse started," Williams said. "Why weren't they rolling camera on it? You know, a camera up in the wig? Men are so stupid, that if you're sexually abusing us, it's so easy to catch you."

When Helas told Williams that big name celebrities such as Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato have shown support for Kesha, Williams said, "I feel like by the time Kesha works her way out of this mess, people would have forgotten about her."

"Her foot is not as strong in the music industry to be able to sustain four more years of this," Williams said, agreeing that it would be a bad move to put out mediocre albums with Sony until she meets her quota.

Williams comments were met with scorn by social media users, who have largely been sympathetic to Kesha's plight:
