The New York Daily News is no stranger to bold covers. Nor is it a stranger to bashing Donald Trump.  But in light of the GOP front-runner's disappointing second place finish in Iowa, they have a new message for the billionaire real estate mogul, which might be its most searing one yet: 

Donald Trump, they report, is a "dead clown walking." The Daily News writes, "In the end, bombastic bozo Donald Trump’s predictions of an Iowa victory were all a big, sad joke."

Trump, in his runner-up speech, attempted to cast himself as the underdog, despite boasting for months about leading almost every poll in Iowa. "On June 16, when we started this journey," he told his supporters, "there were 17 candidates. I was told by everybody do not go to Iowa. You couldn't finish in the top ten... And we finished second and I want to tell you something: 'I'm just honored; I'm really honored.'"

Yet humility has never really been Trump's strength.  Last week, Trump told supporters at a campaign rally that he "could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and [not] lose voters."

Now onto New Hampshire...
