This Cover of the NY Daily News Is Absolutely Chilling

October 2nd 2015

The New York Daily News has a haunting cover that will be released on newsstands Friday morning. The front page depicts eerily similar images of Newtown, Connecticut after the Sandyhook Elementary School shooting and Umpqua Community College after a shooting that has left at least 10 people dead and 7 people injured Thursday morning.

The cover also shows a counting clock of shooting deaths since the Newtown tragedy, currently highlighted at 87,433 individuals.

Earlier on Thursday, President Obama held a press conference in which he pondered, "When Americans are killed in floods and hurricanes we make communities safer. When roads are unsafe we fix them to reduce auto fatalities."

"We have seatbelt laws because we know it saves lives," Obama continued.  "So the notion that gun violence is somehow different? That our freedom and our constitution prohibits any modest regulation of how we use a deadly weapon?"
