Here Are 13 Gripping Reactions to the Sam Dubose Video

July 29th 2015

Twitter users took to the social media platform following the announcement that University of Cincinnati policeman Ray Tensing was indicted for murder for fatally shooting Sam Dubose an unarmed Black man who was shot in the head earlier this month. Tensing pulled Dubose over a mile from the campus for driving without a front license plate.

Body camera footage of their interaction was released Wednesday, and it shows Tensing asking for Dubose's driver's license and trying to reach into Dubose's vehicle. As ATTN: previously reported, "the officer claimed that Dubose had refused to exit his car and then attempted to drive away, dragging the officer along with him." Shortly thereafter, Tensing shot Dubose.

"People want to believe that Mr. Dubose had done something violent toward the officer," Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph Deters told reporters on Wednesday. "He did not. He did not at all, and I feel so sorry for his family and what they lost and I feel sorry for the community too. I think [Tensing] lost his temper because Mr. Dubose wouldn’t get out of the car. When you see this, you will not believe how quickly he pulls his gun and shoots him in the head. It was maybe a second."
